On my way back home from Nordschleife 3/7, i met up with Christian to see his ringtool.. Christian's car, is worth a look and it has inspired me a lot on what i need to do to my own car. I can confirm that the 255/265 wheel setup is awesome. The fender rolling was almost stock looking. I was really thinking about to do the m235i racing bodykit, but i think the 255/265 tire setup is perfect for the 1er 👌

Thx Lars. With a bit fender work and short spring you can go easy 255 square or my Setup.

I will test 255 square next Wednesday on Bilster Berg because of my Tyredamage on the 265 AR1.

Nankang is in conversation with MKR so lets hope the best for me :-).

Next time when you will come to nos i will take holiday then we can drive together some laps.

I will definately run your setup, i like the car has a bit understeer, especially on Nordschleife.

But i like to hear your experience on Bilsterberg, with the square setup.

I hope that MKR/Nankang will replace your tyres under warranty, it shouldnt be cracking like that, when it is so new.

That would be so cool, i am trying to save up for a trip in the middle of October, but i am not sure if it is possible, because of moving and the girlfriend wants to buy new things to the house.

But otherwise i will come back to NOS in early spring time, and hopefully go to NOS 2 or 3 times next year. So i guess we will be able to do some laps and have some fun next season 😁

But if i should have just a small chance to keep up with you beside my experience, i would need some wide wheels with some faster tyre than NS2R.

Oh by the way, if you decide to buy the TTE turbo for your car, i may have a discount code for you, i got when i purchased my turbo there if i remember correct i believe it is 10%..

Received my K-brace after waiting almost a month.

Thursday i drove to The nurburgring, stayed there for 2 days, took a few laps in the wet and drove to Düsseldorf amd picked up a set of original BMW M2 fenders... Heres how the test fitment went on today 👍 M135i is going M spec.. There will be no such thing as a "1series cant have big wide wheels" 😂 We need a M1.. So since BMw wont build, k might as well do it my self.  And yes i will call it M1 when its done.. Some will hate others won't, thats your business 😉

Hi Max..

I will aim for 265 10j in the front and hopefully squeeze 295 11j into the rear.. I will probably go for Cup2 Connect tyres and not to agressive camber.  -2.5/2.7 front and -2.0 in the rear, car is still a daily, so that is why i wont buy AR1 or similar 😊

Best regards Lars

You are crazy - but in a good kind of way :22_stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

Please share your progress with plenty of images, as I think there´s lots of people here who would love to see every single detail when it comes to changing those rear panels...

Haha, yeah i know.. you have to be a little crazy to do such a project like this.. :22_stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:
I will provide all the photos the bodyshop guy is going to take for me.. I know he will take a lot, because i will need them for the TÜV.. I think the work ultimately will start around January, because i need to earn more money, and collect more parts :4_joy::25_money_mouth:

Still is 😁 okay, it wont be driven for the next 10 months or so, because of the project, but when it is finished, it will still be used everyday and on holidays, the build will be streetlegal 😁

Yesterday i took the VW UP! to Hamburg, where i picked up a new Hatch for the build. The rear lights were given to me for free, by an Instagram follower from Schwitzerland, what a legend this dude is 👌

Thank you :3_grin:
I havent got any updates of the car yet.. Only update so far, is that the car now has Aerocatch instead of the original system.
It seems the guys at Breizh Motorsport have done the rear fenders, but they are waiting for glue to come to them.. Shipping in these days are taking a unusual long time.

So? How are the september plans coming? :22_stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

Any chance u still gonna go on the NOS this year? My 135i convertible "project" which is just an engine rebuild is taking forever, too. But well, with 7 cars in my possesion I actually do not mind having one less to park somewhere around my house...

Hi Gany

Sorry for my late reply, i just saw your message by now. :12_slight_smile:
First my plan was to go to France the 20th September and pick up the car and go to NOS by the 22-25th of September, but i have ordered a Carbon fiber bonnet to the project and also AP racing Pro5000R brakekit with 378mm discs and CP9668 calipers, which set us back another 4-6 weeks before i can pick the car up, so i have scheduled to pick it up around 21st of October. I dont think i will go to NOS by then, i might just take the car home, and start figuring out who is going to weld in a multipoint cage for me.
I was thinking of custom racetec or similar, but i dont want to spend much more than 5000eurs on it.

Ah yes, i can understand that, lol.. Is the engine a N55 or N54 and do you plan to upgrade the engine while doing the work? :34_rolling_eyes:

The M240iR cup kit has been fully glued to the car and made uniform.. I still remember back in the days, when i saw Laptimes Performance's project with their M140i, and thought to myself, that one day, i want that, just better. But they where the first to do it.. My frontend are different as someone will spot...
Can't wait to pick the car up again.. I havent  driven the car for 13 months by now, and i am having a hard time not driving my 5 series F11 like a boyracer sometimes, its almost embarrasing, lol..

Sry for bad quality Pictures, its just sent to my, by instagram.

Nice to see some updates are actually taking place! :8_laughing:

It is an early 135i convertible with the N54 Engine. A bit harder too cool due to the two turbos, but more power potential (for the road at least). The engine is pretty sturdy so after a lot of back and forth I decided to keep it stock and renew everything necessary. It will be a typical bolt on tuning with one size larger turbos and all the surroundings. I do not want to got much higher than 400hp. But I hope those 400 I can manage to get kind a NOS ready. Want to just go there and have some fun and then probably sell it again because my 330i E46 is much better built and I do not plan to escalate with it like you do. More like suspension, power, good brake parts, get it well driven in and then maybe sell it again if somebody gives me a good price for it.

Yeah, it's been quite a long time regarding the project, but it is slowly progressing.. Its been a year by now from the start to get to this state..

Aah okay, well the n54 is surely capable of some very decent power output and still be realiable ish.. I guess with your engine rebuild, it should be very reliable for a longer period of time.
Oh yes, a prepped e46 will outdrive an 135i convertible on track, any day.. And i understand why you wont do something similar like my project, its just too complicated, too expensive for a non M car.. But in Denmark, import taxes on cars are a joke, so my project, is still cheaper than an actual M2/M3/M4 in standart form, so for me, it can actually makes sense to build something as radical as this. Also i now have a car thats very unique to the common widebody 1 series.. most of them are M2 clones, and a few others use the M240iR bodykit, i just went full retard and rebuild the entire frontend to the normal 2 series, for a better finish of the widebody and again for the uniqueness of it.. 1 of 1 kinda thing :3_grin:

True, true, your taxations are ludicrous for cars! Never actually really thought about the fact, that a M2 is more economic... I stop asking myself questions here (in the whole forum)! :22_stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:
I just simply love your outrageous build. It shows how far you can actually go with a chassis that could still have four doors, 5 seats and a decent trunk (okay, with the rollcage no more). It is still the pure example of a compact daily driver being still able to daily drive and being much more usable than an Mazda MX-5 or so, while being as fast as a cheap supersportscar "stock".

I am not so sure about the outdriving of the E46 330i though. I mean we are talking about a power gap of around ~170 hp, and the turbos reach deliver it much more constant. The brakes of the 135i are also very capable. With both on decent tires it all comes down on how small the track is.
