Getriebekühler fürs ZF 8HP beim N55 (Mx35i, x35i)

12 posts in this topic

Hallo zusammen,

Simon

Simon, what temps do you regularly see on the gearbox on track? If I remember correct, my temps are usually about 90-100c..

But what you would need to start your configuration is one of these:

Or a complete kit:

If i remember correct, you already upgrated the oil cooler to a setrab, yes?

Hi Lars,

I had the same temperatures as you. At the end I upgraded each cooler, except the stock heat exchanger of the transmission.

I will have a look on the links you sent me :-)

If that is the case, then i don't think you would need to upgrade the cooling for the gearbox. But to be honest, its not my strongest field. And i can't really seem to find anyone who did upgrade the cooling.
Maybe we will see some Australians do it in the future, they are doing a lot of 8hp swaps into skylines, supras, bmw's, driftcars and so on and so on...

@ Lars:

on the gearbox cooling, it depends, on how severe you are going to make your build. Check out the gear box cooling of the G80 M4 GT3, it is situated in the rear of the car, sounds weird, but it works. Would be a nice task on the M135 car's design :-)

Hi Peter
Aah cool.. It also seems that the m235iR runs with an extra cooler which sits in the same area as the M2 DCT cooler. Probably the exact same cooler.

But to be fair, both the m235 Cup car and the G80 GT3 are build to withstand heat for 4-6-12 and 24 hours of racing. For Simon, me and and most of us trackday folks, i'm not sure the extra cooling is beneficial.. Definately not, if we don't exceed the cooling capabillities of the current setup on our cars.

On a side note, how is your s55 swap going? :12_slight_smile:
